Supporting the Next Generation of Induction Heating Leaders at HES-UIE 2026
Fluxtrol was proud to return as an official Gold Sponsor for HES-UIE 2026 in Padua, Italy—a premier gathering for international experts, researchers, and young professionals advancing high-frequency induction heating.
As part of our commitment to fostering future industry leaders, Fluxtrol had the honor of sponsoring the Robert S. Ruffini Award. Named in honor of Fluxtrol’s founder, this award recognizes emerging young scientists driving innovation in electrotechnology and sustainable thermal processing.
We extend our sincere congratulations to this year’s award recipients and their co-authors:
🏆 Alejandro Pazvantov – University of Zaragoza – Connect on LinkedIn
📖 Presentation: “Multi-Load Power Electronic Converter for Induction Heating Domestic Applications”
👥 Co-authors: Héctor Sarnago, Óscar Lucía
🏆 Zhi Yi – Leibniz University Hannover
📖 Presentation: “Reliable High-Temperature Electrical Contacting for Structurally Integrated Thermally Sprayed Heating Elements”
👥 Co-authors: Alexander Köppen, Egbert Baake
By recognizing students and young professionals, Fluxtrol remains dedicated to bridging academic innovation with real-world engineering solutions. Congratulations again to Zhi, Alejandro, and their research teams on this well-deserved honor!
Team Spotlight:
Sean Muyskens Named to Heat Treat Today’s 40 Under 40
“This award is an indication that I am not just contributing to Fluxtrol’s success, but that I am contributing to the improvement of the industry and induction technologies as a whole.”

At Fluxtrol, our strength lies in our team. We are excited to launch our new Team Spotlight Series by celebrating an outstanding achievement by one of our own: Sean Muyskens, who was recently named to Heat Treat Today’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2026!
From Graduate to Industry Leader
Sean joined Fluxtrol’s engineering team in February 2018 directly after graduating from The University of Michigan. Over his eight years with the company, he has grown into a primary technical resource for some of Fluxtrol’s most complex induction heating and simulation projects.
Beyond solving specialized engineering challenges for clients, Sean has led the development of next-generation impeder technologies for high-frequency tube welding—work that has earned him recognition as an HTS Prime Contributor at IMAT 2022 and made him a frequent presenter at ASM conferences worldwide.
Sean credits his growth to mentorship from colleagues across Fluxtrol, including Rob Goldstein, Tareq Eddir, Chris Yakey, Ricardo Diaz, and Tony Edwards.
Connect with Sean on LinkedIn to offer your congratulations or discuss induction simulation challenges!
Upcoming Event Reminder
Join Rob Goldstein (Executive Director of Strategic Planning & Product Development) at Materials Science & Technology 2026 (MS&T26) this October in Pennsylvania!
Rob will present real-world industrial field data demonstrating how switching to Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC) impeders significantly improves process sustainability, reduces energy consumption, and optimizes high-frequency induction tube welding performance.
Topic: “Industrial Validation of Improved Sustainability of High Frequency Induction Tube Welding Using Soft Magnetic Composites”
Date & Time: Wednesday, October 7, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Location: David L. Lawrence Convention Center | Room 403 (Pittsburgh, PA)
If you’re attending MS&T26, add Rob’s session to your schedule or reach out to connect with the Fluxtrol team in Pittsburgh!
